Monica Kim-Taylor

Monica is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Meadowbrook (supervised by Carrie Fleetwood, B.A., M.Ed., R.P.). She is in the process of completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.

Monica has over two decades of valuable life experiences in various areas including career coaching, health and wellness coaching, parenting, eating disorders, and relationship challenges. Her passion lies in providing a caring and compassionate approach to assist individuals through life’s challenges. She works with clients with emotional eating disorders, anxiety and depression, trauma, couples counselling and career counselling.

Monica’s cultural background as a first-generation Korean equips her with cultural sensitivity, which enables her to guide clients through their cross-cultural challenges with empathy and understanding. She believes in a strength-based and person-centered counselling approach, and works diligently to establish a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment.

Utilizing evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Monica employs an integrative approach to support each client effectively.

In her leisure time, Monica cherishes spending time with her busy family of six, and their Maltipoo. She enjoys baking, yoga, gardening, and travelling.
