Millie Owusu

Millie is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Meadowbrook Counselling Associates (supervised by Joey Crump B.R.E., B.A. (Hons), M.S.W., R.S.W.). She is in the process of completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University and holds a BA in sociology. Millie is certified in ASIST suicide prevention and volunteers as a Crisis Support at Distress Centres, providing support to adolescents, teenagers, adults and the elderly struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, suicidal ideation, trauma, relationship issues and more.

Millie is compassionate, non-judgmental, and an eager therapist who strives to create a safe and inviting environment for people of all cultures, identities, and walks of life. Millie works from a holistic and integrated approach, including Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), strength-based and person-centred interventions. With an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and inclusivity, Millie strives to support her clients by helping them develop goals and strategies to improve their quality of life.

If you are experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, or feeling stuck, Millie can work with you collaboratively to facilitate resiliency and mitigate problems by developing coping strategies. Millie takes delight in outdoor activities such as gardening, hiking, and beach days but also enjoys a night in with her family, playing board games, watching movies and eating popcorn.
