Alisa Serebro
Intern Therapist
B.A., B.Ed., MACP, RP (Qualifying)
Alisa is an intern at Meadowbrook (supervised by Carrie Fleetwood, B.A., M.Ed., R.P.) She has completed her Master’s in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University and has a BA in French Studies and a BEd from York University. Working as a teacher in public schools, Alisa became aware of the importance of mental health support both for teachers and students. She became an advocate for student well-being through community building and teaching mindfulness techniques.
Her increasing interest led to a role as Mental Health Lead at school and her completing the MACP program to become a psychotherapist. She now is a passionate advocate for teachers’ mental well-being, which has a ripple effect on student well-being. Apart from her career, she is also a military spouse and thus understands the challenges of frequent relocations and stresses from a partner’s work.
Whether life stresses come at you from work or life situations, Alisa would be delighted to work with you to unload some of the burdens. Taking a strengths-based and client-centred approach, Alisa will help you make goals for your therapy sessions and equip you with the tools to get there.
