Joey Crump is a Clinical Social Worker with a Masters of Social Work specializing in health and mental health. She enjoys supporting people with a wide range of difficulties. Her areas of special interest include anxiety and depression, trauma, marital enrichment, family substance abuse, compassion fatigue, anger management, grief, abuse, chronic disease, cancer and health related issues.
Joey’s professional experience includes working at the school board providing individual support, counselling services and groups. It also includes hospital crisis counselling and leading adult mental health groups in a community agency. In addition to her work at Meadowbrook Counselling Associates, Joey currently provides social work counselling services at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
Joey’s academic credentials include two undergraduate degrees, in Psychology and Theology as well as a Rehabilitation Certification with a focus on psychosocial and vocational rehabilitation. She has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for children, adolescents and adults. She is also a trained facilitator of Prepare and Enrich a marriage assessment and diagnostic tool and has been providing marriage counselling services for over 15 years. Joey is very passionate about the whole person and conducts bio-psycho-social-spiritual assessments.
Joey is a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
Joey is a calm and compassionate individual whose joy for living compliments her role as a therapist. Joey is married to a wonderful man and has raised four children. She is an avid recreational runner and cyclist and enjoys animals and time in the outdoors.
Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - some evening appointments available.
